Obviously The Real McCaul is a pun meant to convey the meaning of the genuine article: durable leathergoods at the right price. Twenty-five years of making and selling his own creations direct to the public at craft-markets have resulted in a very durable product.
	Quality was gradually improved through experience and customer feedback. One could always get a McCaul fixed by Paul. Wanting to do the job only once, properly, he naturally sought stronger materials (eg: brass zips and clips, kangaroo and cow leathers, best thread mostly Australian made).
