Tell us your story… a bit about your background and development as an artist/ designer /craftsperson:We re-located to the Coast from Perth just over a year ago to be near my family, but the Eumundi Markets were also a big draw-card. For the past eight years I was a retailer in Perth’s inner city.  Over the years, I had conceptualized many designs and ideas for products, but unfortunately, never really found the time to create them due to my busy working schedule. Doug’s background is a mixture of working in hospitality (like most musicians!), graphics, fixing computers and more recently - mining.  We both longed for a more creative lifestyle with plenty of time up our sleeves, and what better place to do it than here on the Sunshine Coast. Ironically we find ourselves busier than ever! But we’re doing the things we love : ) 

When did you join the Eumundi Markets community? 03/01/09 

What’s the BEST thing about being part of Eumundi Markets?Meeting lots of different people.  When you’re new to a place it is sometimes hard to do this.Eumundi is also the perfect platform for new designers with it’s “meet the makers” ethos. 

Who is your favourite musician/entertainer at Eumundi Markets?Oka 

Where is your favourite place on the Coast – other than Eumundi Markets?Peregian Originals.  Everyone can go and enjoy some free fun in the sun with great entertainment. It is totally unique. 

Tell us something that your fellow stallholders and customers/clients might not know about you.I’m a Kiwi 

What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you?I’ve always loved music but never thought I was musical. Three years ago Doug started teaching me Bass and now we have a band and do regular gigs! Realising that your only limitations are your own mindsets opens up a whole world of possibility - including moving state at this stage in our lives … another thing I never dreamed was possible : )  

Oh, and where can people find you at Eumundi Markets?Wednesdays behind the main stage next to the Train Station and Saturdays anywhere from pillar to post…..
