MARKET CHEF RETURNS FOR 2013
MARKET CHEF is a cooking event that sees students from high schools across the Sunshine Coast work their kitchen magic at Eumundi Markets during Term 2.
The MARKET CHEF ‘cook-offs’ are a real challenge for the students as they are only told the theme – not the particular recipes – prior to each week. This keeps the young Market Chef’s on their toes!
MARKET CHEF is designed to be educational and fun, engaging those who wish to pursue a career in the hospitality industry.
The students are mentored by esteemed chefs Leigh Darlington (of Asian Street Food) and Pat Elliott (of Elliott’s Fine Foods). Leigh and Pat will share their knowledge with the students, teaching them new techniques and skills and creating two new recipes each week.
All recipes cooked during MARKET CHEF incorporate fresh produce and ingredients from local growers and suppliers available at Eumundi Markets.
